Ethernet connectivity for remote asset monitoring
Ethernet is the wired connection that keeps compounds, towers and cabinets online when cellular alone is not enough. TrackSyte® Neo 2 has Ethernet fitted, alongside RS485, CAN bus, a 9–30 V DC supply, Bluetooth and cellular IoT, so networked site equipment can report into the TrackSyte® Portal over MQTT or API.
Neo 2 also includes a full-constellation GPS/GNSS receiver as standard. For sites that need a dual-Ethernet router-style gateway, TrackSyte Hub is also available — see Hardware & integrations.

What Ethernet means on a field gateway
On site, Ethernet is the reliable wired link inside a compound, tower trailer or industrial cabinet. Where a switch, recorder, power cabinet or controller is already networked, a gateway can use that connection to report status into the same platform that covers serial devices and cellular links.
Wired connections remove the "is it the SIM or the asset?" question. Hire desks and operations teams get a stable link for equipment on mains power or compound networks. For UK temporary and construction compounds, Ethernet is often the first choice when equipment sits inside a cabinet or on a powered trailer with a network already present.
The principle is simple: if the site has a wired network, Neo 2 can use Ethernet to connect it to TrackSyte — with cellular available where the cable does not reach.
What Neo 2 supports
Neo 2 is fitted with Ethernet, together with CAN bus, Modbus, GPIO and RS485 inputs and LTE-M / NB-IoT cellular, sending data into the TrackSyte® Portal via MQTT or API. It also has a 9–30 V DC supply, Bluetooth and full-constellation GPS/GNSS as standard.

Where Ethernet shows up on site

Into TrackSyte Portal
Data sent over Ethernet follows the same path as every other Neo 2 interface: into the TrackSyte® Portal over MQTT or API. Operations teams get the Portal view; engineering teams can stream the same data into their own systems — see API & data access.
Data is protected in transit by authentication, TLS encryption and certificates. TrackSyte is built and supported by Green Power Solutions in Cornwall.

Is Ethernet available on Neo 2?

Does Hub also support Ethernet?

Should I choose Ethernet or cellular?
It depends on the site. Compounds and towers with a network often use Ethernet; remote or temporary sites usually need LTE-M / NB-IoT. Neo 2 supports both, so you can use whichever suits each location.
Is this an industrial VPN or remote PLC access product?
No. TrackSyte uses Ethernet to monitor towers, power, pumps and plant remotely. It is a monitoring platform, not a VPN or remote programming tool.
