How to choose the right connection
Start with the asset. Plant and vehicles usually expose machine data over CAN bus. Pumps, generators and battery systems often have a Modbus controller on RS485. Simple status signals — a door switch, a float level, a run signal — can use GPIO.
Then look at the site. If there is a network in the cabinet or compound, Ethernet gives a stable wired link. If the asset is remote, temporary or moves between jobs, LTE-M and NB-IoT cellular keep it connected. Neo 2 supports all of these at once, so one gateway can cover a mixed site.
Whatever the connection, data reaches the TrackSyte Portal over MQTT or API, protected by authentication, TLS encryption and certificates. Not sure which option fits? We map it with you during a demo.
